Opus North Corporation, today announced the appointment of Matt Rauenhorst as director of retail development and leasing. Rauenhorst will help manage all Opus retail activities throughout the United States. Headquartered in Chicago, Opus North is a full-service design-build real estate development firm.

In this role, Rauenhorst is responsible for pursuing new retail development opportunities and supporting leasing activities for The Shoppes at Fox River in Waukesha, Wisc., and Burr Ridge Village Center in Burr Ridge, Ill., and other recently completed projects.

 

“Matt has been a great asset to the retail development efforts at Opus and we look forward to him expanding his role with Opus North on existing projects and initiating new retail development projects,” said John Meyers, vice president of real estate development at Opus North.

 

Rauenhorst, 30 years old, joined Opus Northwest in 2008, and has since completed development, through leasing or sales, of more than 320,000-square-feet of retail development. Rauenhorst was most recently with Frauenshuh Commercial Real Estate where he was responsible for the acquisition and disposition of many of the firm’s assets.

Rauenhorst holds a bachelor's degree in entrepreneurship from the University of St. Thomas, and a Master of Business Administration in Real Estate and Urban Land Economics from the University of Wisconsin. He is also an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and the Minnesota Shopping Center Association.
