OLATHE, Kan. (July 12, 2007) – Opus Northwest, L.L.C. has announced its third major tenant in less than a year at Corporate Ridge Office Park in Olathe, Kan. Garmin® International will relocate its entire Consumer Product Support team to occupy some 49,000 square feet on the first and second floors of Corporate Ridge II, now under construction in the park. Occupancy will take place on Nov. 1. Approximately 28,000 square feet remain available for lease in the building.
“We are moving to this facility because we need more product support staff to serve our customers, thanks to our rapid growth in the markets we serve,” said Kevin Rauckman, Garmin’s chief financial officer. “The new facility for the contact center is easy to access from K-10, I-435 and I-35 – making it a convenient commute for our associates.”
“We are very fortunate to have an employer like Garmin deciding to expand further in our community and this adds another wonderful tenant to the Corporate Ridge Office Park,” stated Tim McKee, executive vice president of economic development at Olathe Chamber of Commerce.
“Garmin’s expansion into Corporate Ridge is yet another sign that this development, and the K-10 Corridor, has become the preferred location in greater Kansas City for technology oriented office users,” said David Harrison, vice president and general manager for Opus Northwest in Kansas City. “We are moving ahead with plans for Corporate Ridge I, a 90,000-square-foot office building, with construction set to begin before the end of the year.”
Earlier this year, Terracon Consultants, Inc., announced plans to relocate its headquarters to Corporate Ridge, located at K-10 and Ridgeview Road, and will occupy the entire third floor of Corporate Ridge II in December. In September, Farmers Insurance Group will move into 70,000 square feet of Corporate Ridge III which is nearing completion in the park. Approximately 30,000 square feet remain available for lease in the building.
